WE HAD A TIME!

BLACK EXCELLENCE BEACH WEEKEND 2022 WAS EVERYTHING!

We did it again Team. #BEBW2022 was arguably the best vacation of all time! We didn’t think any group trip could be better than Punta Cana in 2021 but we were wrong. #BEBW2022 definitely lived up to the hype!

This year the group traveled to Jamaica where Breathless Montego Bay Resort, Secrets St. James Resort and Secrets Wild Orchid Resort were the three host hotels. Over 410 people attended the trip and we took over all three properties. It was Black Excellence everywhere! The aspect we loved most was that Jamaica felt like a homecoming. When arriving to the resorts, the “Welcome Home” greeting by the hotel staff meant more this year. In Jamaica, everybody was Black. And having that dynamic was so important to the success of the event weekend.

The staff at the host resorts were exceptional and went above and beyond to accommodate the needs of our group. Especially the Food & Beverage Department. The staff made dinner reservations for our group every night at several different restaurants. The service was excellent and the food was AMAZING! It was all you can eat jerk chicken, oxtails, curry goat, and beans & rice. The fresh fruit was delicious too! Also, the staff provided top shelf premium alcohol the entire weekend. This was a game changer, especially at the private group events.

Speaking of events, they were EPIC! The “Welcome to Jamaica” Party in the hotel ballroom was lit and set the tone for the entire weekend. On Friday, the BEBW Pool Party was wild and the Sunset Kickback was an entire vibe. But of course, the highlight of the weekend was the Carnival Beach Party. This event was everything! Group members dressed the part and had on their carnival costumes with headpieces, masks and feathers. Also, we were able to get in the ocean this year and that made it extra special. Lastly, the boat party did not disappoint and the stop at Margaritaville was a great time. Especially the twerk contest as group members shut the party down. It was dope!

Black Excellence Beach Weekend 2022 was an amazing experience and one of the best homecomings in history. The reggae vibes were undefeated and Jamaica will definitely go down in the “vacation hall of fame.” We cannot wait to create more memories with the Travel Team in the future.
